Next Thursday, January 31, the Weston Ranch Theater Department will present, “Monsters in the Closet,” a play by Angela D. Stewart. This play is a beautiful story where fantasy and reality collide in an eclectic and fun musical romp. (pioneerdrama.com) The story revolves around Emily, a young girl having a sleepover at her best friend Stephanie’s house when they discover a monster in the closet! Emily and Stephanie recruit their friends to capture the beast. Without going into more detail, the play is bound to deliver laughs and smiles based on the storyline and music. This play helps create a world of imaginary dreams for children. Although this play is designed for younger audiences, the evening promises to deliver enjoyment for audiences of all ages. The main performances will have an audience of local elementary schools, but the evening performance on the 31st is open to all viewers.
Senior Damian Nicoli will be in charge of Ms. Stogner’s crew and act as director. Saia Hill will take on the role of “Emily,” Ariana Castro will act as “Stephanie,” and Elmer Figueroa will play “Murray the Monster.”
An evening of theater is always a wonderful night. The drama department consistently creates and performs high-quality productions. “Monsters in the Closet” should be no different. Best of luck to our Thespians as they trod the boards one more time. Children’s performances are January 31, February 2, and February 4. All of those performances will take place during regular school hours. The evening performance on January 31 will begin at 6 pm and tickets will be $4.
