GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Cougars Stop Stagg to Improve to 4-4

The Weston Ranch Varsity Girls volleyball team beat Stagg HS, 3-1, last night at Stagg. The Cougars lost game one but came back to win the next three to secure the win.

The Cougars won by scores of 22-15, 25-14, 25-18, and 25-20.

Jr. Annabelle Mayorca racked up 24 assists over the four-game match, Sr. Anisa Hekimian had 12 kills and two aces, and Sr. Isabelle Mayorca finished the night with eight kills and three aces.

Defensively, Leilani Dacus led the way with 31 digs. Isabelle Mayorca tallied 27 digs, and Luna Vasquez added 14 digs.

With the win, the Cougars improved to 5-5 in the SJAA and 8-8 overall.

Weston Ranch’s JV also won their match 2-0 over the Vikings, and the Freshman also won, defeating Stagg HS 2-1.

The Cougars will be back on the court and face McNair High School on October 11 at Weston Ranch. Freshman will play at 4:30; JV at 5:30; and Varsity at 6:30 p.m.
