Varsity Girls Volleyball Completes Epic Comeback for Second SJAA Win at McNair

The Weston Ranch Varsity Girls volleyball team beats McNair HS, 3-2. Weston Ranch has now won its last two SJAA matches.

After dropping the first two games, the Cougars roared back and won in five games 16-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-14, and 15-12.

Senior Anisa Hekimian had fourteen kills and six blocks to pace Weston Ranch in its victory. Hekimian has tallied 24 kills and nine blocks during the two-game Cougar win-streak.

Isabelle Mayorca had six aces and seven kills, Yaritza Jimenez had nine kills and four blocks, and Naomi Bridges collected four kills and added three blocks to round out the stats for Weston Ranch.

The victory was the second for the Cougars in the SJAA and improved their record to 2-2 and 5-5 overall.

Weston Ranch’s JV won their match 2-0 to run its SJAA record to a perfect 4-0. The freshman also won, defeating McNair 2-0.

All three levels will be back at home Tuesday, September 13, for their matches with Chavez High School. Game times are 5, 6, and 7 pm.
