Track and Field Ready To Run

Track season is around the corner!

The Weston Ranch High School track and field team has a lot of talent this year. Weston Ranch produces outstanding track and field athletes, many of whom have gone off to college and currently compete for their new school, as Robert Battle, a former Cougar, is now running for Middle Georgia College. This year’s team promises to be exciting and hopes to produce exceptional student-athletes who may follow in Battle’s footsteps.

Last year, our varsity boys Fletcher Pitts, Jeremiah Richardson, Andrew Williams, and Robert Battle took 1st place in the 100-meter relay. Pitts, Williams, and Richardson all return and will be looking for a fourth relay member to help them defend their title.

Coach West leads our team again this year. Ms. West has been coaching for the last five years, and her goal for our track team this year is to be successful even though we do not have a track to practice. Currently, the group conducts practices in the weight room, the school’s parking lot, and both the large and small gyms. Without a home track, all of our meets will be away events.
