This past week was LatinX Heritage Month kick-off week. Monday was for Latinx artists, such as celebrating Selena, Bad Bunny, and Freida Kahlo. Students were wearing their favorite Latinx artist attire. During lunch, they had Ballet Folklorico dancing. Tuesday was Caballero Day and students would wear their boots and hats. During lunch in the quad on Tuesday, MECHA held a roping contest. Wednesday was Latinx sports; students wore their favorite team’s jerseys. During lunch, the soccer team was doing kicking activities with students. Thursday was Latinx in science. During lunch, Mr. Hegyi modeled science experiments and explained to students what they were doing moving air. Friday, “Si Se Puede!” translated to “Yes, You Can!” was all about promoting LatinX achievement in the future. At lunch, they had photo booths and they played Latin Music.
