Weston Ranch High’s first scheduled preseason game against Waterford High took place on August 18, 2023. Head coach, Ron Wayman, stated in a pregame interview, “I feel like we have some extremely good talent returners that are coming from last season. And as of right now, the outcome would be good.” When looking back at the game, the team lived up to his expectations.
Weston Ranch scored 7 points in the first quarter, 12 points in the second, and 8 points in the fourth. The Ranch held Waterford to 12 points, making the final score 29-12. The cougars’ first game on the road set the tone for a great 2023 season.
