CLUB SPOTLIGHT: Science Olympiad

Weston Ranch High School has a new club called Science Olympiad. This club is science and math-driven and will be led by president Sania Saini and club advisor Mr. Hegyi.

Officer positions were due on April 22nd, at 6 p.m. for Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Saini asked for students to email her their letter of interest, containing “name, grade, position you’re applying for, and why/what you will do for the club, past experiences in clubs, STEM, etc.” according to the club’s Instagram page (@wrhsscienceolympiad).

Some officer candidates for the club include Tajvir Singh and Melvin Boateng.

Singh states his extreme passion for sciences and maths led him to become an officer and that “he would ensure the club succeeds in growing more prominent with more members and being a good support role to help the club members achieve more success.”

Boateng, mostly in conjunction, is dedicated to “developing more opportunities for himself and his schoolmates to express their knowledge and expertise,” which is the club’s goal.

Weston Ranch students who are good at (or are interested in developing their skills at) science and math can excel and represent themselves and their school through Science Olympiad.

Both Singh and Boateng have the same common goal: to see Science Olympiad succeed in their competitions. The club exists to train members to compete in science and math-based tournaments, which reward the winning school. All members of club leadership would support and educate their members to win.
