South Dakota Considering Abortion Ban

After the 6-week abortion ban in Texas, other states have taken the route and have unveiled proposals to ban almost all abortions.

Kristi Noem, South Dakota’s governor, has brought a proposal to the table that would ban abortions throughout the entirety of the state. If the submission gets passed, abortions would be prohibited by the law once a fetal activity is detected. In addition, if an abortion is to be performed, the person(s) who helped them could be punished with a $10,000 penalty minimum.

The problem with this proposal is that some women don’t realize that they’re pregnant six weeks in. So not only does this proposal do more harm than good, but it also violates women’s reproductive rights and freedom. By passing the proposal, it shows that women’s decisions for their bodies are invalid.
