JV Volleyball Serving Up Notice in VOL

The Weston Ranch girls JV volleyball team won again yesterday. After dispatching the Manteca High School Buffaloes 2 games to none, the Cougars improved their record to 4-1 in the VOL and ran their current win streak to three.

Serving, assisting, and never allowing the Buffaloes to get on a roll with their serves, the Cougars made quick work of the evening, winning game one 25-11 and game two 25-18. Sophomore Penny Hunt began game one by reeling off five straight service points and putting her teammates on cruise control. Game two was a bit tighter for the Cougars as Manteca rallied several times to keep the set close, but it was the tough Cougar defense and the timely offense that helped secure the win down the stretch.

Head coach Jarien Falcon rotated players into the game masterfully and was rewarded with a stellar effort from the team.

In addition to Hunt’s great serves (she had four aces on the night), sophomores Isabelle Mayorga (three kills) and Maiyah Apostol (four assists) provided the additional highlights for the Cougars in their win.
