The job of a school counselor is to help students focus on academic, career, and social/emotional development. Hence, they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society (schoolcounselor.org). School counselors work tirelessly behind the scenes on the campus to provide students with resources from choosing classes, helping with career paths, and lending an ear whenever someone needs to talk. It’s a big job, yet it sometimes goes unnoticed.
However, one of our counselors received notice. Stuart Farrell received recognition for his contributions as a school counselor from CollegeBoard. CollegeBoard awards attention to those school counselors who have excelled in providing students with all the tools and resources they need to help them be successful.

“College Board is pleased to recognize Stuart Farrell from Weston Ranch HS, MUSD for the 2019-20 College Board Counselor Recognition Program. They were nominated for their exemplary work as a professional school counselor. Stuart received a letter of recognition and lapel pin from College Board during National School Counseling Week, February 3–7.
