The Cougar Battalion has done it again! This past Saturday, Weston Ranch JROTC competed in the Rio Linda Drill Competition. This drill competition had lots of different schools that attended, 16 in all, and all came prepared and ready for a friendly day of spirited exercises.
The opening ceremony began at 8:40 and kicked off the competition. Some of the elements performed were Color Guard and Squad/Platoon events.
Congratulations to Armed Platoon for taking first place, as well as to Jordy Esqueda for his first-place finish in the LET 3 and 4 drill down. Congratulations to Unarmed Platoon for their second place and the Color Guard Team for placing third.
“There was a lot of competition, and there was a lot of spirit from everyone, and the competition was fierce,” CSM (Command Sargent Major) Bryant Orozco.
Overall, it was another terrific day for our JROTC program.
