JROTC Has Night to Remember

Dressed in their finest, the WRHS JROTC spent an evening at Ripon High School in a night of celebration. The Annual Military Ball took place on October 12th.

JROTC Battalions from several different schools, which included East Union, Lathrop, Manteca, Ripon, and of course, Weston Ranch, attended the ball taking place at Ripon High School where Ripon JROTC was the host battalion. The battalions enjoyed a menu of BBQ Chicken, pulled pork, vegetables, rolls, and mashed potatoes, quickly followed by cake, and, after the meal, the attending cadets and instructors were dismissed table by table. After eating, a guest speaker from the Ripon Police Department, who presented his speech that reminded cadets about the importance of the seven army values and his own experiences in life.

“That night, the region’s JROTC cadets came together as a family to enjoy the military ball tradition and festivities,” commented SAI Colonel Cerezo. “Many cadets and the instructors always look forward to the bonding and camaraderie of the five schools each school year.”

Cadets had fun enjoying the delicious food, as well as dancing to music from the present, but the DJ performed hit songs from older music as well. Promoting bonding and camaraderie among the battalions, everyone enjoyed gathering together, eating, and dancing with military tradition.
