After four trailers, a departure from its original director, Zack Snyder, and even necessary reshoots from Joss Whedon, one question emerges: Did “Justice League” live up to movie audiences’ expectations?

Or did it fall flat on its face?

Here’s the spoiler-free answer.

The good things about Justice League

The one thing I enjoyed about this film was how each character interacted with each other.

Among my personal favorites were the exchanges between Barry Allen, who is better known as The Flash, and Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg. Whenever these two were together or with the team on screen, it felt natural. There were funny moments and there were great moments.

Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry was pretty cool. Momoa made Aquaman look like a mutant tsunami. As usual, both Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot as The Caped Crusader and Wonder Woman did a fantastic job on this flick. Overall, the human nature of how these characters have different views on the problem rather than saying, “Oh yeah! We’re a team! Let’s fight!” is wonderful to see.

The bad things about Justice League

As much of a fun film it was, it had its flaws.

Honestly, I think it would’ve been much better if they had more time, like an extra 30 minutes rather than just two hours.

Yes, the movie should’ve been longer.

As enjoyable as it was, some parts felt a bit odd. You can tell there were missing scenes deleted or cut from the original film production. The story feels chopping. For the most part, it runs smoothly but there are a few scenes that you can tell that could’ve been better. Here’s where more time would’ve helped.

Yet, all the time in the world couldn’t have helped special effect that weren’t so special.

The CGI in Justice league is bad.

You especially see this shortcoming with Steppenwolf and other big man with the letter “S” across his chest.

While Cyborg’s CGI is adequate, Steppenwolf’s face seems only partially animated when he talks. The character himself also is a problem. He’s a weak villain, in my opinion, due to his motives and his actions. He’s basically doing villain things but it’s more of “I do it cause I’m evil” or “I do it ‘cause I want too.” Not to mention, even though it’s PG-13, no civilians are getting hurt and Steppenwolf hide out only has a few. Overall, I wished that they’d cut him out or did more to develop the character.

Conclusion

Sadly, “Justice League” is not a good movie, but it’s not a bad one either.

Even with its problems, I went a second time to watch “Justice League” for how much I love these characters. This isn’t a must see unless you’re an ultra DC/DCEU fan. But if you want some mindless fun with cool surprises, I suggest this film. Also, if you want, stay for two minutes after credit scenes. Out of a maximum of 5 total, I’ll give this movie a 3.5 – or a C+. The good weighs out the evil on this scale of “Justice.”
