Weston Ranch MECha (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan) recognized Dia de los Muertos Nov. 1-2. The annual celebration is an event rooted in indigenous Mexican culture, in which the living honor and remember the dead.

The student group constructed a traditional Dia de los Muertos altar with offerings and skulls. The altar has been on display in the school library.
