Are you ready to speak your mind? The deadline to turn in your Senior Quote is Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

Senior Quotes are ready to be submitted. The Guidelines were sent out to seniors Monday. Make sure you tell your friends and other seniors to turn in their quotes before it’s too late. Your quote should represent who you are as a person, and how you want to be remembered. It is your first chance to leave a good impression.

“I think that it’s important for my fellow peers to have a platform to share and enable their voice,” said senior Manuel Carlos.

Other seniors are excited by the opportunity to share their thoughts.

“I’m excited for senior quotes because you get a little bit of insight in what your fellow seniors think about/like by the quote they decide to use,” said senior Citlalli Ocana. “Though I’m still not sure what I’ll decide to use for mine.”

Students are encouraged to use common sense in sharing their quotes. If not, Yearbook will replace your quote with an enthusiastic, “Go Cougars!” You will also lose the chance to leave a meaningful quote that could possibly help younger students by setting an example. Due to school guidelines, you are slightly limited in what you could put in your quote.

You can’t use acronyms, and your quotes must be limited to 10 words or less to fit everyone’s on the page.

You can’t reference drugs, alcohol, gangs, sex, cliques, phrases, or profanity.

You also can’t use your quote to call out your friends or teachers, or to bully students.

Your quote must be in English with no abbreviations, creative spelling, or otherwise questionable content.

All quotes will be reviewed by administration and yearbook staff.

If you aren’t sure if your quote will pass and you have questions, contact [email protected] or stop by Room 103.
