Senior Quotes aren’t canceled. They are going to be solicited this month.

There were some rumors going around campus that Senior Quotes weren’t going to be taken this year. The Prowl can confirm that those rumors are not true.

Here’s what happened.

Weston Ranch Yearbook Advisor Mrs. Aviette Brooks talked to her class about Senior Quotes early last week, saying that there will be no Senior Quote sought throughout this month, that month being October. By the weekend, some students from the Yearbook class had misinterpreted that comment to mean “No senior quotes ever.” Social media spread the rumor faster than The Telephone Game with posts on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. Blame was assigned to the Class of 2017 for messing thing up for this year’s seniors.

This is the reason why you should pay attention in class and make sure you know all the facts before spreading false info.

Seniors will be able to put down their quotes during this month. Although Senior Quotes have not been taken away, they still could be if you decide to respond in a certain way.

Here is what you, as the Class of 2018, SHOULD NOT include in your Senior Quotes.

1) Please do not quote Cardi B or XxxTentacion. I know some of you have been waiting 12 years for this, but now is not the time.

2) Obviously, don’t put any profanity, non-school appropriate words or “inside jokes” as your quote. That should go WITHOUT saying. Yet, here I am saying it.

3) Don’t use your quote to call out or bully anybody. This could result in your suspension. And, if severe enough, you won’t be able to walk during graduation. Is it worth it?

4) Don’t put any offensive jokes, not everyone shares your tasteless sense of humor about high school being like death row or 9-11. People, like Alex Jones, could take the joke seriously. Just leave them off the page.

Everything else should be common sense on what you should or shouldn’t share.

Senior quotes are borderline of falling into an oblivion right now already.

Don’t ruin this for yourself and the years lower than you.

Don’t be the class that earns the blame for killing Senior Quotes.
