This week’s teacher spotlight is on Deborah Chavez. Ms. Chavez is a good teacher and is always friendly to her students. She does an excellent job of ensuring everyone feels included and creating a safe space for others. She is a favorite of many students here at Weston Ranch, and it is our pleasure to highlight her story this week.
Ms. Chavez has been teaching at Weston Ranch for 16 years. Her current assignments are PLUS, Peer Resources, and Yearbook. Ms. Chavez started her education journey at Delta College and continued at Sacramento State. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Master’s in Education.
“I have been working here longer than all you been alive,” Chavez said.
Ms. Chavez likes to sleep, binge-watch Netflix, and watch her son grow in her free time. She is busy being in charge of other teachers or coaching the boys’ volleyball team when she is not teaching her classes. Ms. Chavez’s favorite part about her job is the students.
