Ketanji Brown Jackson Named Newest Supreme Court Justice

The United States White House website detailed that “on February 25th, 2022, President Joe Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson” to serve on the supreme court. Political Journalist website Politico looks at who Judge Jackson is: a Harvard University law graduate who worked as a public defender lawyer and a private lawyer.

Judge Jackson was confirmed into the Supreme Court on April 7th, 2022, by a bipartisan group of Senators. Championing over twenty years of experience in the American legal system, this Democratic nominee understands the significance of having a fair and functioning legal system that protects the innocents and punishes the guilty.

Jackson also made history by being the first African American woman to be a Supreme Court Justice after working with former President Barack Obama as a district court judge in 2012. CNBC recorded the progress, detailing that the vote was 53-47 in support of Jackson. As Jackson begins her role in the Supreme Court, Americans will look on towards the future of change and progress with Jackson on the Bench.
