JV softball picked up their first win of the year by defeating Edison 20-16 on March 2nd.
The Cougars overcame some first-game jitters and outslugged the Vikings on their way to the win. However, the obstacles in their way to 20 runs proved to be no match for their positive attitudes.
“We made some mistakes,” said freshman Kylie Nicole. “We batted out of order one time, but we were able to survive it. We finished as strong as possible and got the win because we deserved it by giving 110% the entire game.”
Megan Spaulding provided the biggest highlight for the Cougars. Spaulding clobbered a double and plated two Cougar runs.
“Megan’s hit was my favorite part of the game,” said Nicole. “It was thrilling.”
So, as the Cougars knocked some of the rust off, they collectively worked hard and brought home the win.
The next game for the JV is March 9th at McNair High School.
