NASA is planning to crash the ISS into the Pacific Ocean
NASA is planning to crash the International Space Station into the Pacific Ocean. The planned crash isn’t happening anytime soon, but NASA did share that they plan to transition the ISS out of service by the end of 2031.
The ISS first launched in 1998, and it has been working for a long time, gathering information, and learning more about the universe. NASA wants CLCD (cholesteric liquid crystal display) to help lead the way into the future.
Once NASA crashes the ISS in the Pacific Ocean, they will place their researchers aboard CLCDs. The ISS will be crashed into the Pacific Ocean at Point Nemo. Although point Nemo has acted as a graveyard for many space crafts, Point Nemo is the furthest part in the ocean from land. Most space crafts crash at Point Nemo to remove the possibility of any debris causing harm to anyone.
For the next eight years, NASA will continue to push the exploration and learning in space. But, for now, this is all the information currently out in public.
