Quarterback Tom Brady Retires from NFL

Tom Brady retired from the NFL on February 1, 2022. After playing 22 seasons in the NFL (20 with New England and two with Tampa Bay), Brady decided the time was right to walk away from the game.

Brady retired from the NFL because he will not make that competitive commitment anymore. Instead, he will start focusing and putting his energy into different things that need attention, but he also said he loves his NFL career.

Brady’s main reason for retiring is that he wasn’t sure he could put 100% competitiveness in his games, which would be acceptable considering he is getting older and things change. In addition, he is going to spend more time with his family.

In Jacob Camenker’s story called “Why did Tom Brady retire?”, the former Buccaneers and Patriots QB cites competitive commitment and family in his Instagram posts. Brady says, “If a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game. There is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximize my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life.”

Brady was a good quarterback and is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

In Camenker’s story, Brady added, “I am so proud of what we have achieved. My teammates, coaches, fellow competitors, and fans deserve 100% of me, but right now, I should leave the field of play to the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes.”
