BOYS SOCCER: Cougars Continue to Roll

Boys soccer posted another win last night. The Cougars traveled to Edison and defeated the Vikings 3-0.

Sergio Garcia, Angel Zapata, and Zinedine Valdez scored the goals for the Cougars. Sergio Garcia and Josemaria “Choche” Barrera recorded the assists, and goalie Marcos Arriaza recorded his third shutout. For Berrera, this was his fifth assist in the last three games.

Midfielders Garcia and Ivan Guerra had an outstanding game controlling the Vikings midfielders and helped limit the Vikings to two shots. In addition to Garcia and Guerra, several other members of the Cougars defense stepped up to seal the win and make it an easy night for Arriaza in goal.

“Our defense continues to do a great job,” said head coach Francisco Cisneros. “Eleazar Nava, Mauricio Morales, Cesar Juárez, and Jaime Arreola helped maintain the clean sheet.”
