Cougars Got Talent Tonight

The Cougar’s Got Talent Showcase is happening tonight in the WRHS theater at 7 PM.

While every act performing tonight promises to be terrific, the buzz before the show is about a group of students, in particular, who will close the show.

Juniors Allan Fernandez, Roemie Osias, Alaina Galvadores, John Legaspi, and Damien Hulbert will be performing Willow’s “Transparent Soul.” They have constantly been practicing to perform their best for the students and parents. The band, dedicated to their performance, practiced for two months in one of the member’s homes all week.

The equipment they will be using is Ms. Speckman’s amp, and all of their instruments are from home. Ms. Speckman gladly let the band use her amp, and after hearing them play, she urged them to try out for the talent show.

This band performance was initially a coincidence. It began with two members (Fernandez and Osias) wanting to play a song together with guitars. Eventually, the other members (Galvadores, Legaspi, and Hulbert) would hear it and want to pitch in. The music they chose was also a coincidence. The vocalist (Galvadores) initially wanted to try performing this song on her own at the show, but the rest of the band decided it was perfect for all of them.

Several members of the band wanted to share their thoughts about their journey to the stage tonight.

“Try to get out of your comfort zone. It’ll help you grow as a person,” says Roemie, regarding trying out for public events.

“If you have potential, believe in yourself and use it to the best of your ability,” says Alaina, urging students to try out for the things they want to do.

“Find people that have the same passion as you and work together to make something beautiful,” says Allan, showing students that they don’t have to do these types of things on their own.

Doors for tonight’s show open at 6:45. This performance is free, starts at 7 PM in the Theater, and features some of the fantastic students on campus. In addition, there will be roses for sale for $2 each, and proceeds will benefit the music clubs.
