This year’s Ag department and classes have two new teachers. Mr. Raul Celeste and Ms. Natlie Gutierrez are in their first year here at Weston Ranch and have the FFA Club and Floral Design classes speeding forward with terrific results.
Students in Wood and Floral are collaborating to make planters and flower boxes filled with floral arrangements and plant arrangements by Ms. Gutierrez’s floral classes. One of their projects will be on display tonight at the home football game against Franklin. Mr. Celeste and Mrs. Gutierrez combined their classes on September 1, and they made floral boxes to sell at this Friday’s football game.
They talked about the project over the weekend and wanted to do something that would help the kids discover other things besides college and careers and just building wood.
“We started doing this project so kids can see and understand the other side of the Ag industry,” Celeste said.
In addition to the floral boxes, FFA will sell tri-tip sandwiches and linguica sandwiches to all hungry fans.
