JROTC Jumps For Another Competition

The Weston ranch JROTC program had a busy month of February.

On February 15th, WRHS Cougar Battalion participated in the East Union
Drill Competition. Eight schools attended the drill competition. The elements performed at the tournament were Armed and Unarmed Platoon, Unarmed Inspection, Armed Inspection, and Armed / Unarmed Exhibition. Cadets enjoyed the competition and had lots of fun. Weston Ranch Placed third in Armed drill and Inspection, placed second in Unarmed exhibition, and placed 3rd for the armed presentation.

On February 22nd, The Fresno State Raider Competition took place with five schools attending, including Weston Ranch. The Raider Competition is designed to work the cadet and see the physical and mental strength of those who participate. Cadets were pushed in events ranging from basic pullups and pushups, obstacle courses running, and other demanding tasks.

Although Weston Ranch did not place in the top 3, what matters is the Cougars got out there and tried their best. Good job to those who participated and better luck in the next competition.
