The Cougar Battalion attended the JROTC Annual Regulation LET (Leadership Education Training)1 & 2 Drill meet hosted by Lathrop High School’s JROTC last Saturday, November 16th. Schools competing were WRHS, East Union, Manteca, Design Science, Franklin, Discovery Challenge Academy, and host Lathrop. All battalions met to compete in a day of friendly competition and challenge the LET 1’s & 2’s cadets in drill. In support of cooperation and teamwork, the cadets enjoyed a day of pride and honor, where they got to apply the dedicated work they have been putting in practicing drill and display it on the drill pad.

“It was an awesome experience for the cougar cadets and with their hard work, dedication, and commitment they won many accolades.” commented WRHS’s JROTC SAI, LTC Mike Cerezo

The competition was judged by LET 3’s & 4’s where each team of judges consisted of three cadets, and each judging team had a cadet head judge assigned to them. An active duty/reserve soldier was designated as the head judge advisor of each judging team to ensure that standards were met.

Each school participated in color guard, unarmed squad, unarmed platoon, armed squad, armed platoon, and in the closing ceremony, ten cadets from each battalion were selected to participate in the LET 1 & 2 drill down. There were first, second, and third place medals for the winners of the drill down.
